If you are not South African, you would probably think, a couple of things means, just two things, well, being 'sefican', it means any number of things. Which is cool, because this is a list of things on my mind.
First things first. I am too lazy to write multiple entries in the journal, I figured the ideas, or thoughts, have not fully evolved and are not backed with enough research to demand a single entry, but if you are still reading, read on.
1. Hello, World?
I keep wondering who is coming to this journal. This not to say, I don't want people to come here, but for as long as I been interacting with the web (10 years long), I have had a 'disconnected' feeling with it, the same feeling of holiding a conversation with someone over the phone, when you could just drive over to Parkhusrt, have coffee and cigarettes (more on that later) and have a conversation.
2. Football.
Okay, so it's evident that Africa might not go far in the football worldcup, aga shame, but yesterday I saw Argentina play, oh my god (omg?), what a beautiful game it was. Interestingly though, the younger players of any team are more skilled. Messi is only 19 years old, he is pure magic, absolutely talented. Youth is a beautiful thing.
3. Youth.
Yesterday, was june 16 (in a Maputo (Mozambique) there is a street called, June 16), youth day. I had an email conversation about why I was not celebrating it. I have reasons, the same reason's why I hold Oliver Tambo with higher regard over, err (cough), Nelson Mandela.
4. Smoke Away
So, in the past two months or so, I have been trying to quit smoking, and now I have decided, I won't ever again, try something that stupid. Short and simple, I enjoy smoking.
5. Business
I spoke to a friend, potential partner, today, and told him, about my plans for business growth, his words were, "... you know you could take over the world, but you are just too lazy...", reminded me of that famous quote, "... the meek shall take over the earth." I have a lot of work to do, though, which is why I am not always available to in the real world to spend time with, the more apart I am from my friends, the more unfocused I become, but the more ambitious I become, which leads me to a masters degree.
6. Education
I intend to continue with my studies as of next year sometime. I love this country, and most importantly, I have a mother-and-child relationship with Africa and it's well being. I have no intention of leaving this continent for a duration longer than month, but I want to travel for 3 years. So my conclusion is to try and attain a masters degree at Oxford University in Software engineering, for a duration of two years. I don't know who will be paying for it, I was hoping the Nelson Mandela Scholarship would, but they only fund for 1 year. If anybody has an idea where I can apply (hopefully get) scholarship, let me know, pretty please?
7. Twenty Ten
In the year two thousand and ten, South Africa will have the pleasure to host the Fifa Worldcup. I remember when I was at the German School Beerfest, when the announcement was made by Fifa, I was with my former business partners, and we all agreed by then, we should all have advanced closer to making profit from the event. I have been reading up on a few things on how Fifa runs the game and how one can partake. The bad news is Emarites(f7) airlines, coca-cola, sony, toshiba, Budwiser and Adiddas have contracts till the year 2014. So South African Airways and the South African Brewery (SAB Miller) won't be able to cash in, aga shame. Point is though, the time is now.
Yep, that's it for now, oh I still have a muse and I am dyslexic.
