the balance

and the classics are:

Ying/Yang; Good/Evil; Here/There; You/Me; Us/Them; Girl/Boy; Love/Hate; Negative/Positive; 0/1; True/False; Truth/Lie; Beauty/Ugly; et cet era;

Just before I passed out yesterday (or rather this morning 2am) I was thinking; what if the existence of the duality is not for one part to overcome the other, that is to say:

we cannot have good overcoming evil; because good is only justified by evil otherwise how do we know something is good?

more so, I was thinking, even the idea of having them in moderation was wrong, that is to say:

we should have the same amount of good as we have evil. (love/hate).

I was thinking, it does not matter in what ratio they are in, as long as they exists, and each end point strives to overcome the other until until until.

If you look at the ying/yang sign you notice the movement of one 'force' (if we can call it that): it appears to be moving towards the other.

why? to merge? to overcome?

I don't know.  I just know the two forces have to exist --- one force in justified by the other, without the other it means nothing.

which reminds me of a film I saw, when some dude said:

beauty is justified by ugly. (he went on to elude to): every beautiful woman needs an ugly man to enhance that beauty, and thus, beautiful woman are instinctively attracted to ugly men.

I thought it was interesting.
